Life is made up of the memories accumulated over the years. Someone's life is marked by photos, diaries, videos and so on. Its the stuff that you can imagine an old grandmother doing -- sitting by the window, looking through an old photo album and reminiscing on the past.With the digital age, nostalgia is going to take on a different form. The old grandmother will be sitting in front of a computer looking through folders of pictures.Lots of them probably.
A couple of years ago, my laptop had a lot of problem both in terms of hard ware and soft ware. With few alternatives, i opted to reformat my hard disk. As a result of which, i needed to do backups. A couple of months later, I was looking through the photos I have burned into CDs and to my dismay, there was a "cyclic redundancy error" which destroyed many of my photos. I was devastated.
Yesterday, I was looking for those cds to do some backup. And i misplaced one of them. It felt like half my life is gone with the disappearance of my back up disks. Seriously, I did feel rather helpless.
