on this and that...

I've been watching so much Naruto for the past week that I can't help but crave for Ramen.
The way he raves about ramen...

today, i decided to make my own version of ramen.
First, need some of those miso paste available from Cold Storage.
Next, look into my fridge to see what i could use... well there were those mushrooms that i didn't finish using after cooking pasta last week, half a can of corn... ok thats enough i suppose.
Stir fry sliced mushrooms, add miso paste, water, corn, finally, partially cooked instant noodles.
Turned out pretty good except that I over estimated the paste and it was rather salty so i had to add more water.

I like kelp. should buy them for my ramen in future.

So i wondered about ramen. Because, i don't really know what good ramen is. And i usually don't like to pay that much for ramen at a restaurant because seriously, it tastes like instant noodles to me. What makes a good ramen?

Here's WIKIPEDIA to the rescue. In the US, ramen generally refers to instant noodles. Seriously, its always the americans who invents their own definitions of stuff. Sorta like living in their own world *roll eyes* Look wat I found! though i think i ought to try some of those recipes some day! haha but on second thoughts, the american diet isn't that a doc would recommend for anyone. really.

Instant noodles is so popular in asia. its almost like staple to me. well, i even named this blog after one of them. But no one knows who Momofuko Fundo is huh? Oh well, at least i don't. this is the guy who invented instant noodles, and the founder of Nissin. he must be rich? even though he discovered the "flash frying" method only at the age of 48...

Momofuko Fundo ought to be more popular. one of those guys who changed the diet of asia. All over taiwan, hong kong, malaysia, singapore, japan, korea, thailand... instant noodles makes a meal. Despite how my mum bitches about the high levels of sodium and msg... i love them. Urban legend has it that some guy ate so much instant noodles that after he died, his intestine was totally preserved or something. Can't remember what it was exactly. (just found the legend... geez, i am so into them today. wats with me??

ON urban legends. The one that really freaked me out when i was young was that about the women who masturbated with some lobster, or some crustacean which left copious amount of eggs in her vagina. and how some time later, she exploded a whole army of little crustaceans. Gross huh...

Finally bought a pair of running shoes. I really like asics gel kalyano but its almost 200$!! thats expensive considering that it will wear out within a year... i mean if i wanted a pair of running shoes thats just for strutting around and therefore not going to wear out that soon, i probably won't mind paying more for it. but when i run and get them dirty and worn out looking, maybe not. But then again since I will be running in them, i should invest in a good pair right? Oh well... bought the gel err.. don\t know what its called, a bit cheaper but still expensive. Think its my most expensive pair of running shoes ever. Once you have worn a pair of asics, you don't want Nike anymore. Itslike computers. once you get started on mac, you won't go back to windows... would u??

On Mac, urgh, the new ipod nano.. how unfair. how cool. 8G.. colored.. i'm drooling...
*one should learn to be contented*

going back to naruto...
i should ration them so that they won't run out so soon, so that they last longer
Brian thinks i am mad...
